Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is pleased to announce that its Quiz Team achieved the runner-up position in the Quiz Competition held during the 38th AIU Inter- University North-West Zone Youth Festival (Unifest), organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The event took place at Om Sterling Global University in Hisar, Haryana from February 8 to 12, 2025, in which 22 leading universities from the North-West region participated.
The Quiz Team from the university’s Quiz Club was represented by Yasir Abdullah, a final-year student in the B.A Programme, Abhigyan Shandilya, a first-year student pursuing B.A Political Science; and Muhammad Anas VP, a final-year student in the M.A International and Area Studies programme.
The team had the opportunity to meet with the Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif and DSW Prof. Neelofer Afzal, who extended their congratulations and expressed their best wishes for the team’s future endeavours.
The exceptional performance of the JMI Quiz Team has secured them the distinction of being the second-best literary team in the North-West Zone. This achievement enables them to represent both JMI and the North-West Zone at the upcoming National Youth Festival, which is set to take place next month at Amity University, Noida. Notably, this is the sixth occasion on which the JMI Quiz Team has progressed to the national finals, highlighting their unwavering commitment, excellence, and the mentorship provided by Prof. Mohd. Kamalun Nabi, the quiz mentor. The team was accompanied by Team Manager Pushkar Kumar Dhanolia.
