In an effort to enhance the green space and the natural beauty of the Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) campus, the Horticulture Department under the supervision of Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Horticulturist, organized a plantation drive today at the varsity’s Nehru Guest House. In the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Rajiv Nayan, M.P., IDSA, New Delhi, and Shri Deepak Kumar Adhikari, Director, Neeti Anusandhan Pratishthan, Kathmandu, Nepal, the event was officially opened by JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif, and the Registrar Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi.
Plumeria Rubra, Grevillea robusta, Cassia fistula, and Citrus species (such as lemon and mosambi) were among the plant species planted during the drive. Several university faculty members, non-teaching staff and guest house personnel participated in the event.
