New Delhi, August 28: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) witnessed a vibrant celebration of creativity and national pride as the Department of Educational Studies hosted a one- day inter-departmental poster competition. The event, themed “The Spirit of Viksit Bharat,” saw enthusiastic participation from students across ten departments.
Held within the department’s premises, the competition attracted participants through a first-come, first-served registration process. The students showcased their artistic talents by creating posters that reflected the theme, drawing a large and engaged audience. Mr. Syed Arif Ali, a Lecturer in Fine Arts at Jamia Senior Secondary School, JMI, evaluated the entries.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Ali Haider and Dr. Sameer Babu M., faculty members who ensured the smooth execution of the competition. The faculty’s presence added to the event’s success, offering encouragement to the participants.
Prof. Arshad Ikram Ahmad, Head of the Department and convenor of the event, delivered a motivational address before the announcement of winners. He praised the participants for their innovative efforts and emphasized the importance of national pride. The awards ceremony saw Prof. Ahmad distributing trophies and certificates. The first prize was awarded to Mr. Abhishek from the Department of Art Education, Faculty of Fine Arts, followed by Ms. Aghnia Haider from the Department of English in second place, and Ms. Syeda Uzma Fatma from the Department of Educational Studies in third place. All participants were honoured with certificates of recognition.The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sameer Babu M., leaving attendees inspired and proud.
