Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI),a NAAC A++ Grade Central University proudly announces the triumphant conclusion of an enriching academic exchange program with the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt - Faculty of Business - Logistics - Transportation (FHE), Germany.
This initiative, ‘‘A German-Indian Perspective on HRM Megatrends and Diversity Awareness” designed to foster cross-cultural understanding and academic collaboration, has been an outstanding success.
Guided by Dr. Sarika Tomar and Dr. Shaad Habeeb, ten students from JMI’s M.A. Human Resource Management program visited the University of Erfurt’s Faculty of Applied Sciences from 20th to 29th May, 2024. The program commenced with a warm reception at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, followed by a series of lectures on Human Resource Management, Retail Marketing, Teambuilding, Leadership in Sports Organizations, and Economic Policy. Esteemed professors, including Dr. Susanne Schrabback, Prof. Dr. Anette Hoxtell, and Prof. Dr. Bernd Schwandt, imparted their knowledge. Students also participated in German language sessions to enhance cultural assimilation and communication.
The exchange encompassed visits to Erfurt, Leipzig, Weimar, and Eisenach, showcasing Germany’s rich cultural heritage and history. Key sites visited included Wartburg Castle, Eisenach Theatre, Goethe National Museum, and the Buchenwald Memorial. Additionally, students toured prominent companies and institutions such as VNG Leipzig, and MDC Power in Kölleda, gaining invaluable insights into operational and managerial practices.
Daily reflection sessions allowed participants to consolidate their learning experiences. This successful exchange marks a significant milestone in JMI’s commitment to fostering global partnerships. It followed the visit of ten German students to JMI in November 2023, led by Professor Sabine Brunner, underscoring the strong partnership between the two universities.
