Jaipur, April 9, 2026: As per Amar Ujala report, In a major breakthrough in the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scam investigation, Rajasthan’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has detained former IAS officer Subodh Agrawal in Delhi and is expected to bring him to Jaipur shortly for further interrogation.
The development comes after the ACB court issued arrest warrants against four absconding accused, including Agrawal, in the alleged ₹900 crore-plus JJM scam linked to irregularities in the rural drinking water scheme.
Agrawal, a retired 1988-batch IAS officer, had been on the agency’s radar for weeks. The ACB had earlier conducted raids at multiple locations in Delhi and other states, while also issuing a lookout notice amid concerns that he might leave the country.
Investigators are probing allegations of tender manipulation, collusion involving senior engineers and officials, and large-scale financial irregularities in the execution of Rajasthan’s Jal Jeevan Mission projects. The case has already seen multiple arrests of engineers, contractors and senior officials, with the ACB SIT expanding its scope beyond Rajasthan.
With Agrawal now in custody, the focus is likely to shift to his role in administrative approvals, contractor linkages and decision-making chains within the water supply department.
