According to a report by The Information, Apple, led by Tim Cook, is said to be developing a new button for prototypes of the upcoming iPhone 16. This button aims to facilitate quick photo and video capture while holding the device horizontally. Citing two sources, the report suggests that the camera button may be positioned on the bottom right of the phone, conveniently under the index finger during landscape-mode photography and videography.
Interestingly, the recently launched Apple iPhone 15 series, introduced in September of the previous year, featured a new Action button, replacing the mute button from the prior generation. The Action button played a significant role in the marketing campaign for the iPhone 15 series. Similarly, The Information's report indicates that the new camera button is expected to be a key selling point for Apple.
In terms of storage, Apple has been providing up to 1 TB of storage on the Pro iPhones for some time. However, with the upcoming iPhone 16, the company is rumored to offer up to 2 TB of storage, particularly on the pro models, as suggested by a report from DigiTimes. Additionally, the report notes that Apple might choose a slightly more economical QLC (Quad-Level Cell) NAND type storage, which is less expensive than the TLC (Triple-Level Cell) NAND.
