Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that local self-governance is the soul of India’s administrative system. Governance in India has traditionally grown upward—from villages to the nation. Hence, the village has been regarded as the first unit of self-rule and self-reliance.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while presenting the vision of AatmaNirbhar Bharat and good governance, clearly stated that India’s true strength lies in the collective power of its villages, Panchayats, and people.
Dr. Yadav said the workshop on AatmaNirbhar Panchayat – Prosperous Madhya Pradesh is a decisive step toward Gram Swaraj, local self-reliance, and Viksit Bharat @ 2047. He expressed pride that Panchayat representatives themselves are leading this mission to develop Panchayats into administratively efficient, financially capable, and community-driven self-reliant institutions.
The Chief Minister announced that although the Vice-Chairpersons of District and Janpad Panchayats currently chair Education Committees, their inspection suggestions were not fully documented earlier. Now, all their inspection notes and recommendations will be officially recorded and implemented.
He shared that Sarpanchs have been empowered to spend up to ₹25 lakh on Panchayat activities—calling it only the beginning, with further steps planned.
Dr. Yadav was addressing the inaugural session of the State-Level Workshop on making Panchayats self-reliant and prosperous.
