The Indian Army today organised its annual Ideas and Innovation Competition and Seminar — Inno–Yoddha 2025 — at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, in the presence of the Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Pushpendra Pal Singh.
Inno–Yoddha is the Army’s flagship annual platform aimed at identifying internal innovations that help bridge capability gaps, enhance operations, improve maintenance and training efficiency, and boost overall operational effectiveness. The initiative empowers soldiers — who best understand ground realities — to translate their professional expertise, creativity, and technical skill into practical solutions.
Deployed across some of the world’s most challenging and diverse terrains with harsh weather and evolving threat dynamics, the Indian Army continues to foster ingenuity, adaptability, and creativity among its personnel. The innovation competition under Inno–Yoddha highlights that the most effective solutions often emerge directly from soldiers engaged in frontline operations.
Key Achievements of the Army’s Innovation Ecosystem Over the Past Five Years

For the 2025–26 edition, conducted between November and December 2025, the Army received a record 89 innovations from its various arms and services. Following a rigorous evaluation, 32 innovations were selected for further development and formally recognised by the Vice Chief of Army Staff. These innovations will now be refined, upgraded, and prepared for battlefield deployment. IPR applications will be filed for them, and upon success, these technologies may be transferred to industry for large-scale production — reaffirming the Army’s commitment to Aatmanirbhar Bharat and a robust indigenous design, development and manufacturing ecosystem.
