Pakistan made attempts late last night and early this morning to escalate tensions with India by targeting military installations in 15 cities across northern and western India — including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Gujarat — according to a statement by the government on Thursday.
In response, Indian forces targeted and neutralised Pakistani Air Defence Radars and systems at multiple locations, including Lahore. This action followed attempted strikes by Pakistan on military facilities in Srinagar, Pathankot, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, and other areas.
The government emphasised that the Indian response matched the Pakistani attacks "in the same domain (and) with the same intensity."
Pakistan reportedly used drones and missiles, which were intercepted and neutralised by India’s air defence systems.
According to sources cited by news agency ANI, India deployed HARPY drones to destroy Pakistani air defences and used the Russian-made S-400 air defence system to shoot down incoming missiles.
