New Delhi, Feb 15: India reinforced its emergence as a global content powerhouse during the WAVES Bazaar held alongside Bharat Parv at the Ritz Hotel, where leading cinema experts, technology innovators, and policymakers converged to shape the future of the audiovisual and entertainment ecosystem. Organized by the National Film Development Corporation under the WAVES (World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit) initiative, the event highlighted India’s growing stature as a “global content factory” and its expanding influence across cinema, media, and creative technologies.

The day opened with NFDC General Manager Gautam Bhanot outlining the roadmap for India’s AVGC and film sectors. A high-level panel titled “India as a Global Content Factory: Scale, Talent and New Business Models” explored India’s rising storytelling capabilities and international competitiveness. Global participants emphasized how film markets, platforms like WAVES Bazaar, and government-backed innovation initiatives are strengthening production scale, nurturing talent, and enabling cross-border collaborations — positioning India as a major global hub for creative industries and innovation.
Delhi and Maharashtra Present Film Tourism Strategies
In a major push to promote regional film tourism, Delhi and Maharashtra unveiled strategic roadmaps to attract filmmakers and international productions. Delhi’s Tourism, Art and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra presented the capital’s revised film policy and incentives designed to make Delhi a preferred shooting destination.
Maharashtra’s Culture Minister Ashish Shelar followed with a detailed presentation on Maharashtra Film City, highlighting comprehensive production support and financial incentives aimed at boosting domestic and global film projects. Both ministers were honored for their contribution to strengthening the cultural economy.
