May 21, 2026; Sambalpur:IIM Sambalpur, one of India’s premier management institutions, in collaboration with an NGO, WE4YOU, hosted the Western Odisha Ability Summit 2026, themed “From Access to Income: Local Pathways for Inclusive Livelihood,” with more than 200 differently abled persons in attendance. The aim of this summit was to celebrate accessibility, innovation, and empowerment for persons with disabilities which coincides with one of the core values of IIM Sambalpur, i.e., inclusivity. Remarkable to note is that IIM Sambalpur’s campus is also disabled friendly.
The event was attended by a panel of notable personalities such as Shri. Jayanarayana Mishra, MLA, Sambalpur; Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur; Mr. TM Prakash, President - Head HR, Downstream Business, Mumbai, Hindalco Industries Limited; and Shri Parveen Verma, CEO, TPWODL.
Addressing the participants, Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur, remarked, “I urge the participants to remember that the greatest barrier is mental, not physical. Therefore, look beyond physical limitations and work together to build a more inclusive society. At IIM Sambalpur, we are committed to building a business education ecosystem that not only serves India but also becomes a model for the world.”
Addressing the gathering at the Summit, Shri Jayanarayan Mishra, MLA, Sambalpur, said, “I appreciate IIM Sambalpur for its remarkable 10-year journey. It is inspiring to see how the institute has grown since its establishment in Sambalpur and continues its contribution towards community development and social transformation through education and innovation.”
