Godrej & Boyce, the flagship company of the Godrej Group, announced that its Joint Venture Godrej Körber has secured a significant order from a leading Indian multinational paint manufacturer, for setting up an automated warehouse attached to their greenfield facility for manufacturing paints in Uttar Pradesh. This order comes on the heels of the company strengthening its partnership with Germany based Körber AG, to bring together an unmatched depth and breadth of technologies and expertise to conquer supply chain complexity.
According to a report by ResearchAndMarkets, the warehousing market in India was valued at INR 1,050 Bn in 2020. This is expected to grow at a CAGR of ~14.86% between 2021 and 2025, to reach a value of INR 2,028.86 Bn by 2025. With government policies that give the much needed push to india to become a global manufacturing hub, ecommerce too, boomed during the pandemic and the need for Grade-A warehouses having the latest technology increased manifold to fulfil orders in a timely and cost effective manner. Godrej Körber an expert in conquering supply chain complexities plans to invest 150 crs in bringing the latest warehousing technologies to India by leveraging its partnership with Germany based Körber AG.
The new project will help the company to seamlessly manage the movement and storage of 15,000 tons of decorative and industrial paints manufactured at its Greenfield facility in Sandila, Uttar Pradesh. The entire system is managed through proprietary Warehouse Management System (WMS) interfaced with Client ERP (Oracle) for seamless operations. Proposed System is seismic compliant consisting of double deep linear Stacker Cranes, 15,000+ Storage locations within the facility that is connected by input/output conveyors and Autolifts bridging connection between manufacturing and warehouse. The dispatch zone is equipped to handle full pallet as well as partial picking (rainbow pallet preparation) through a loop of Rail Guided Vehicles (RGV’s), conveyors and pick-to-light solutions.

During the pandemic, Godrej Körber helped its customers by extending 24×7 remote support through digital conversations. The company ensured placement of necessary tools and technologies required to substitute physical interactions.
Godrej & Boyce’s partnership with the Körber Group began in 2015 with Körber acquiring Efacec Handling Solutions, Portugal, the joint venture partner for Godrej at that time. The joint venture was then renamed Godrej Consoveyo and – further rebranded as Godrej Körber early this year.
