National champion Ganemat Sekhon continued her impressive run with another win in women's skeet, winning the 3rd Digvijay Singh Memorial Shooting Championship (Shotgun) crown with 56 (current Olympic record) hits in the 60-shot final played at the MP Shooting Academy Range. Rituraj Singh Bundela also put up a stellar performance to win the gold medal in men's skeet. He won the 38-shot shoot-off with Gurjot Khangura of Punjab.
Both had tied with 55-hits in the final. Rituraj won two big shoot-offs on the day. The first with Olympian Angad Bajwa, which put them in the top six. Both topped the qualification with 118 hits. Another Olympian Anant Jeet Singh Naruka won the bronze medal with 46 hits while finishing third with 121. In contrast, Ganimat made it to the final in a lonely third place, as Raiza Dhillon, the other Olympian to win a medal that day, topped the field of 19 players with a score of 118.
However, Ganimat reigned supreme in the final with the confidence of her recent victories at the World University Games and the National Games and gave the field no chance with a near-perfect performance. Raiza won the silver with 53, while Rajasthan's Darshna Rathore won the bronze, crashing out with a score of 42 after 50 shots.
