Hyderabad, March 7: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday arrested Kamatam Sravan Kumar, Tahsildar of Gajwel Mandal in Siddipet district, in connection with a disproportionate assets case after searches allegedly revealed properties and valuables worth around ₹4 crore.
According to ACB officials, a case was registered against the officer for allegedly acquiring assets disproportionate to his known sources of income by misusing his official position.
Raids at multiple locations
ACB teams carried out simultaneous searches at the accused officer’s residence and two other locations as part of the investigation. During the raids, officials reportedly recovered documents linked to several movable and immovable properties.
Properties and valuables found
The assets identified during the searches include:
Two houses in Karimnagar town
An apartment building comprising six flats
Four open plots in Karimnagar town
The documented value of these properties is estimated at ₹2.47 crore, though officials said the actual market value could be significantly higher.
In addition, the ACB found:
Two two-wheelers worth about ₹1.6 lakh
One four-wheeler valued at around ₹30 lakh
Gold ornaments worth ₹4.2 lakh
Household articles valued at ₹15.66 lakh
Cash amounting to ₹11.9 lakh
The total value of the assets identified so far is estimated at around ₹4 crore, officials said.
Arrest and investigation
Following the searches, Sravan Kumar was arrested and is being produced before the court for judicial remand. ACB officials stated that searches are still continuing and further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the assets allegedly amassed by the officer.
