Cooperative Minister Mr. Udaylal Anjana said that mustard and gram are being procured from April 1 on support price in the state. Till June 6, 2023, 3.47 lakh metric tonnes of gram and mustard have been procured from 1 lakh 42 thousand 785 farmers. Whose amount is Rs 1 thousand 873 crore. Rs 1 thousand 117 crore has been paid to the farmers.
Mr. Anjana was taking a review meeting of the department at the secretariat on Wednesday. He said that the delay in providing gunny bags to Rajfed as per the demand by Nafed for almost a month has affected the purchase from farmers. He said that about 63 lakh gunny bags of mustard and 57 lakh 49 thousand gunny bags of gram have been demanded by Rajfed to NAFED.
The Cooperation Minister said that the department has written twice to NAFED in this regard. He urged the Central Government to direct NAFED to make gunny bags available soon. He said that about 22 lakh gunny bags are available with Rajfed, but permission to use it is also not being given by NAFED. He said that he himself will write a letter to the Central Government.
Mr. Anjana said that the benefits of Annapurna Yojana will be made available to the beneficiaries soon. He said that the tender has been approved from my level and the tender process will be started soon.
Principal Government Secretary Cooperative Mrs. Shreya Guha said that she is in constant touch with the officials of NAFED and now the supply of gunny bags has started increasing rapidly. Managing Director Rajfed said that due to the prices of mustard and gram being less than the support price in the market, farmers are trying to sell their produce at the support price and 2 to 3 thousand registrations are being done daily. He said that another demand of 35 lakh gunny bags would be sent to NAFED.
Chief Minister's budget announcement, DPC in Apex Bank, loan distribution and other points were discussed in the meeting. Registrar Cooperative Mr. Meghraj Singh Ratnu, Joint Government Secretary Mr. Narayan Singh, Managing Director Tilam Union Mr. Arvind Mishra, Additional Registrar First Mr. Rajeev Lochan Sharma, Managing Director Apex Bank Mr. Bhomaram and concerned officers were present in the meeting.
