A heartfelt video of Alakh Pandey, Founder and CEO of PhysicsWallah (PW), popularly known as Alakh Sir, helping a young girl from Jharkhand resume her education is winning hearts online.
During his visit to Laxmipur village in Jharkhand to inaugurate a digital library for students, Alakh Sir met 14-year-old Sonali Thudu, a student from a tribal community in a nearby village. Due to severe financial constraints, Sonali had been forced to discontinue her education. Despite the challenges, she shared her dream of becoming a nurse and studying at St. Mary School, a residential school in Tisri, Giridih district.
Sonali spoke about the hardships her family has endured after her father suffered an accident and lost his housekeeping job in Hyderabad. Since then, her mother has been travelling nearly 10 kilometres every day to work at a local farm, caring for livestock to support the family.
Deeply moved by Sonali's determination and her family's resilience, Alakh Sir accompanied Sonali and her parents to St. Mary School and facilitated her admission.
He has sponsored Sonali's tuition and hostel fees for Classes 9 and 10, along with providing additional financial assistance to support her educational needs. Alakh Sir also gifted her a new school uniform and personally walked her to her classroom, introducing her to her teachers and classmates as she began a new chapter in her academic journey.
Sonali's story is a powerful reminder that timely support and access to quality education can transform lives, turning aspirations into opportunities and hope into reality.
