She contested elections from Sawai Madhopur on BJP ticket and became MLA. Vasundhara Raje had brought Diya Kumari into politics, today both of them are seen face to face in the race for the post of CM. Diya Kumari is the second member of the former royal family of Jaipur to be elected as a Lok Sabha MP. Before him, Gayatri Devi had contested elections from Jaipur royal family. She was MP thrice.
Bhajanlal Sharma, MLA from Sanganer for the first time, became the new CM, while Diya Kumari, MLA from Vidyadhar Nagar of Jaipur royal family and Premchand Bairwa, MLA from Dudu, have been made Deputy CMs for the first time.
