Bhopal, March 6, 2026: In a significant step toward strengthening cybercrime investigations, Director General of Police Kailash Makwana on Friday launched the advanced digital platform e-Forensic 2.0 (Beta) at the Madhya Pradesh Cyber Forensic Laboratory.
The new system aims to make cyber forensic investigations faster, more transparent, and technology-driven. It is a key component of the Interoperable Criminal Justice System, which seeks to integrate police, courts, prosecution agencies, and forensic institutions on a unified digital platform to streamline evidence collection, examination, and reporting in criminal cases.
Officials said the platform is currently being integrated with the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems. Once the integration is completed next month, police stations across the state will be able to send online requests for forensic examination and digital evidence analysis directly through the CCTNS portal.
The e-Forensic 2.0 system includes several advanced features such as digital e-Sign authentication, real-time case tracking, automated SMS and email alerts, and partial reporting. These features are expected to make forensic testing more efficient, transparent, and time-bound, while also accelerating the judicial process.
Additionally, a centralized dashboard will enable national-level monitoring of forensic service performance by the National Crime Records Bureau and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
With the rollout of e-Forensic 2.0, the entire process—from case registration to digital report submission—will be conducted online, further strengthening coordination and transparency within the criminal justice system.
