Raipur, May 31, 2024 – A two-day "Chintan Shivir" (Ideation Camp) aimed at crafting a vision for a "developed Chhattisgarh and developed India" was inaugurated today by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Raipur. The camp, organized by IIM Raipur, saw active participation from all ministers of the Chhattisgarh government, led by Chief Minister Sai.
The opening session focused on the camp's main theme, "Vikasit Chhattisgarh: A Vision for 10 Years," featuring a lecture by B.V.R. Subramanyam, CEO of NITI Aayog. Subramanyam provided expert insights into the concept of "Vikasit Bharat" (Developed India) and discussed strategies for realizing this vision. He highlighted India's rapid progress over the past decade under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, noting the Prime Minister's commitment to making India a developed nation by 2047. Subramanyam showcased various government initiatives from the past ten years and shared the government's strategic vision for the future.
In his address, Subramanyam emphasized the importance of 'scale, speed, and innovation' in achieving the goal of a developed India. He explained that the vision for Vikasit Bharat is designed to align with changing global dynamics, positioning India to join the elite group of nations on the world stage. He pointed out the shift in global focus towards the Global South and the increasing attention on eastern countries, underscoring India's readiness to play a pivotal role.
Subramanyam identified India's demographic advantages, strategic location, and comprehensive reforms in key areas as critical factors that will drive the nation forward. He cited India's leadership in digital economy, tax reforms, and innovation support as examples of the country's strengths, urging continued efforts in these areas. He also stressed the importance of promoting green energy to address climate change, ensuring that sustainable development remains a priority.
Discussing the significance of having a clear vision, Subramanyam stated that a well-defined vision serves as a roadmap for achieving goals. He affirmed that Chhattisgarh has the potential to significantly contribute to the realization of Vikasit Bharat, positioning itself as a key player in India's development journey.
The Chintan Shivir is designed to facilitate idea exchange and vision development among decision-makers and lawmakers, drawing on expertise from various fields. The goal is to establish a clear and constructive agenda to fulfill the mandate given by the people of Chhattisgarh, who recently voted out the previous Congress government marred by corruption scandals.
Innovatively, the camp will focus on the 'convergence of schemes' and the 'optimum and balanced use of resources' to propel Chhattisgarh on the path of development. Attendees included Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Food Minister Dayaldas Baghel, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan, Finance Minister O.P. Chaudhary, Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Rajwade, and Sports Minister Tankram Verma.
