Under the Ministry of Textiles’ SAMARTH Scheme, a demand-driven skill development programme aimed at employment generation, 5.26 lakh beneficiaries have been successfully trained between 2021–22 and 11 December 2025. Of these, 4.67 lakh are women, along with 1.44 lakh Scheduled Caste and 68,621 Scheduled Tribe beneficiaries.
The scheme covers the entire textile value chain, excluding organised-sector spinning and weaving, and operates across both organised and traditional sectors. The Ministry has aligned all courses with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and regularly updates training modules in consultation with industry to ensure relevance to current workforce needs.
