The recognition highlights the company’s structured approach to implementing impactful CSR programmes and deepening community engagement across its areas of operation.
The award ceremony, held in New Delhi, was attended by distinguished dignitaries including Shri Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Minister of Industries, Food & Supplies and Environment & Forest, Government of Delhi, and Mr. C.K. Mishra (IAS), former Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
Commenting on the recognition, Ashok Gupta, CEO, Dalmia Bharat Foundation, said the honour reflects the collective efforts of teams working closely with communities to drive structured and sustainable development initiatives.
“We are honoured to receive this recognition at the CII–ITC Sustainability Awards. This achievement reflects the collective efforts of our teams across locations who work closely with communities to implement structured and sustainable development initiatives. We remain committed to strengthening our CSR programmes and creating long-term value for the communities we serve,” he said.
Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of DBL, currently drives structured social development programmes across 2,066 villages in 20 locations across India.
Its implementation framework includes stakeholder consultations, need-based assessments, and robust grievance redressal systems to ensure consistent and measurable impact.
The Foundation’s focus areas include livelihood development, skill building, rural infrastructure, healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability.
Under its flagship Gram Parivartan programme, DBF has adopted a holistic, community-led rural development model that has reached over 45,000 households and delivered more than 1 lakh interventions, with the goal of helping families achieve an annual income of over ₹1.5 lakh.
In the skilling space, DBF’s 32 DIKSHa Skill Centres have trained more than 29,800 youth, significantly improving employability in communities around plant locations.
Additionally, initiatives spanning healthcare, education, and rural infrastructure are collectively benefiting over 100,000 individuals annually, reinforcing long-term community well-being.
As part of the awards assessment, Dalmia Bharat’s CSR systems and programme implementation underwent a multi-stage evaluation, including documentation review, on-ground validation visits at its Dalmiapuram facility in Tamil Nadu, and a final jury review alongside other leading manufacturing organisations.
The recognition further reinforces Dalmia Bharat’s continued focus on aligning CSR initiatives with broader sustainability priorities such as skill development, sustainable livelihoods, water stewardship, climate resilience, and rural infrastructure development.
