New Delhi, August 3: The cryptocurrency market traded lower on Monday, with Bitcoin and Ethereum extending losses as selling pressure weighed on major digital assets. Most leading cryptocurrencies remained in the red, reflecting cautious investor sentiment across the broader crypto market.
Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, declined 0.74% to $63,016, shedding $469 during the session. Its market capitalization stood at $1.27 trillion.
Ethereum (Ether) also traded lower, falling 1.11% to $1,861.12, while Binance Coin (BNB) slipped 0.48% to $585.80.
Among the top cryptocurrencies, Cardano recorded the steepest decline, falling 1.72% to $0.1859, followed by Algorand, which lost 1.87%. XRP declined 1.28%, while Avalanche, Polkadot, Solana, Litecoin, and Uniswap also traded in negative territory.
Dai was the only major token to register gains, edging up 0.11% to $1.0011, maintaining its stability around the $1 mark.

On a monthly basis, Uniswap remained the standout performer with a 28.22% gain, followed by Ethereum (+4.63%) and Binance Coin (+1.82%). However, Solana (-10.65%), Polkadot (-10.62%), and Cosmos (-21.07%) continued to face sustained selling pressure.
Long-Term Trend Remains Under Pressure
Year-to-date performance remained weak across the crypto market. Bitcoin is down 27.98% in 2026, while Ethereum has declined 37.28%. Solana (-41.39%), Avalanche (-47.54%), and Polkadot (-55.84%) have witnessed steeper corrections.
On a year-on-year basis, losses remain significant across major cryptocurrencies, highlighting continued volatility despite intermittent recoveries in recent weeks.
