Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department On Tuesday, Shri Abhay Kumar reviewed the various schemes being run in the state under Watershed Development and Land Conservation (Watershed) and Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) in the auditorium of Pant Krishi Bhawan.
The Additional Chief Secretary, while reviewing the progress of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (watershed component) and Rajiv Gandhi Jal Sanchay Yojana, directed that the schemes should be operated according to the prescribed timeline. He directed that as a line department, the works of Natural Resource Management (NRM) under MNREGA scheme should be carried out by taking maximum numbers. He directed that maximum coordination and convergence should be done with Rajivika and MNREGA schemes in watershed works. Along with this, a model model of pasture development in NREGA through watershed should be prepared.
Secretary, Panchayati Raj Department, Shri Naveen Jain informed ACS about “Integrated GI Based Real Time Monitoring System” related to impact assessment of watershed plans, data collection, processing and mapping of watershed works done in the state through GIS. .
While reviewing the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), the Additional Chief Secretary directed that toilet facilities should be ensured in the police stations built in rural areas. Panchayat Secretary Shri Jain instructed the officers to conduct a survey for this. Shri Jain presented the model of bringing villages under ODF plus category and building a model village through an 11-point presentation to the ACS.
ACS told the need to make them aware through IEC to take the benefit of solid and liquid management to the economically weaker people in the village. He said that the success of the scheme is only when it is demanded by the villagers themselves. For this, it is necessary to change their behavior through IEC. Panchayati Raj Secretary Shri Jain informed the ACS about making more than two dozen places of tourist and religious importance dirt-free, “Lighthouse Project”, “Gobardhan”, a project related to construction of dung gas, ownership scheme and many other departmental schemes.
