Bhopal, April 10: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed officials to design new job-oriented courses that can help youth secure immediate employment after training, while reviewing the work of the Technical Education, Skill Development and Employment Department at Samatva Bhavan on Friday.
The review meeting was attended by Technical Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar and Minister of State (Independent Charge) Gautam Tetwal.
The Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh has performed better than other states under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and instructed officials to ensure that more young people benefit from the flagship skill development programme.
He emphasised that the state should introduce practical and industry-relevant new courses that directly improve employability and align with emerging economic opportunities.
Strong ITI performance at national level
Officials informed the meeting that the Government of India’s national ITI grading results placed Madhya Pradesh at 5th position in the country.
A major highlight was that 47 government ITIs in the state secured a 9-plus grading score out of 10, reflecting strong institutional quality and training standards.
Highest enrolment in PM Skill Development Scheme
The Chief Minister noted that Madhya Pradesh has recorded the highest enrolment in the country under PMKVY, underlining the state’s leadership in youth skilling initiatives.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India the “skill capital” of the world requires focused efforts to connect the country’s large youth population with sustainable employment opportunities.
