Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that social media plays a vital role in conveying factual information to the masses and is thus a powerful tool for strengthening democratic systems. He highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recognized the potential of social media early on and maintains continuous communication with citizens through various digital platforms.
Dr. Yadav made these remarks while inaugurating a Digital Marketing Workshop organized by the Tribal Research Institute (T.R.I.) for tribal social media influencers. The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony and floral tributes to tribal freedom fighters at the Tribal Museum. The Chief Minister was felicitated with a Tulsi plant, Rudraksha mala, and a traditional shawl.
The event featured Dr. Himanshu Rai, Director of the Indian Institute of Management Indore, as the keynote speaker. Distinguished attendees included Mr. Vinod Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary and Director of T.R.I., Mr. Nishant Khare, former President of Bal Bharti, and Mr. Sudam Khade, Commissioner and Secretary of Public Relations.
CM Yadav stated that individuals can easily enhance their talent and potential through social media, calling it a simple yet transformative technology available to the public today. In a democracy where equal opportunity exists, access to digital tools is a privilege that can help individuals progress and contribute to societal development.
Dr. Yadav also referenced historical figures like Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, who changed history with determination, and Rani Durgavati, who defeated Emperor Akbar thrice — stories that deserve wider dissemination. He stressed that spreading such impactful historical events is a key responsibility of social media influencers.
Keynote speaker Dr. Himanshu Rai spoke about the qualities of influencers, leadership, responsibility towards followers, and the importance of communication. He emphasized that consistent effort, determination, and using one’s full potential are critical for success.
Additional Commissioner of T.R.I., Mr. Laxman Singh Markam, said the workshop was inspired by CM Yadav’s vision. It aims to train tribal youth in digital content creation in their native languages to promote tribal culture and traditions. The workshop will enhance digital marketing skills and help disseminate government welfare schemes. A total of 276 participants from across the state have registered, including 76 influencers with over 2 lakh followers. In the first session, eight subject experts will guide the influencers.
