The first phase of Census 2027 in Rajasthan, covering House Listing and Housing Census, has entered its next stage following the successful completion of the self-enumeration process.

According to officials, the Self-Enumeration exercise conducted between May 1 and May 15, 2026, witnessed participation from nearly 15 lakh families across the state, who submitted their details digitally through the census platform.
For the first time in India, the Census is being conducted digitally through a mobile application-based system.
Door-to-Door Enumeration from May 16 to June 14
As per the official notification, the next phase of the Census will now be carried out from May 16 to June 14, during which enumerators will visit households door-to-door to collect and verify information.
Officials said:
- Families that completed self-enumeration will have their submitted information verified by enumerators.
- Families that did not participate in self-enumeration will be directly interviewed, and their details will be entered into the digital portal by census officials.
Enumerators to Collect Details on Housing, Amenities and Household Assets
During the exercise, enumerators will ask a total of 33 questions related to:
- construction material used in houses (floor, walls and roof),
- details of the head of the family,
- number of household members,
- availability of drinking water,
- electricity and lighting facilities,
- toilet and kitchen facilities,
- LPG/PNG connections,
- household assets and amenities,
- ownership of television, internet and laptops,
- vehicles such as bicycles and cars,
- primary food grains consumed,
- and mobile numbers for communication purposes.
Public Asked to Extend Full Cooperation
Director of the Directorate of Economics and Statistics and Joint Secretary to the Government, Vinesh Singhvi, appealed to residents to cooperate fully with census officials to ensure smooth and successful implementation of Census 2027.
He urged citizens to:
- provide accurate and clear information,
- assist enumerators during the survey,
- and allow authorised personnel access to homes and premises for data collection.
Officials stated that accurate census data will play a critical role in policy planning, welfare schemes, infrastructure development, and future governance decisions.
