The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday declared the Class 10 Board Result 2026, with the overall pass percentage rising marginally to 93.70%, up from 93.66% last year. Among all CBSE regions, Trivandrum and Vijayawada emerged as the top-performing zones, both recording an impressive 99.79% pass percentage.
Close behind were Chennai at 99.58% and Bengaluru at 98.91%, continuing the dominance of southern regions in CBSE’s Class 10 performance charts this year as well.
In the Delhi region, Delhi West posted 97.45%, while Delhi East recorded 97.33%, taking the combined capital region pass percentage to 97.38%. Meanwhile, nearly 1.47 lakh students have been placed in the compartment category, giving them another opportunity to improve scores in the next exam cycle.
CBSE Will Not Release Topper List
CBSE has once again confirmed that it will not publish an official topper list or rank students, a policy aimed at reducing unhealthy competition and academic pressure among students. Instead, the board will issue merit certificates to the top 0.1% students in each subject.
This means the viral “student-wise topper tables” circulating online are unofficial and school-level compilations, not rankings released by CBSE.
School Category Performance
Among school categories, Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) delivered the best performance with a 99.57% pass rate, followed by Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) at 99.42%. Government schools registered 91.43%, government-aided schools 91.01%, while private schools stood at 93.77%.
