July 10: The cryptocurrency market traded higher on Friday, led by gains in Bitcoin, Ethereum and several major altcoins, as investor sentiment improved following recent volatility. Bitcoin climbed 0.83% to $63,743, while Ethereum gained 1.13% to $1,764.56.
Among the top cryptocurrencies, Avalanche emerged as the biggest gainer, rising 1.56%, followed by Cosmos (+1.29%), Polkadot (+1.11%), XRP (+1.06%), Binance Coin (+0.99%), Solana (+0.99%), and Cardano (+0.90%). Polygon was the only major token trading in the red, slipping 0.20%.
On a weekly basis, Bitcoin advanced 1.99%, while Polygon gained 3.74%. However, Cardano (-6.45%), Polkadot (-5.16%), and Solana (-4.17%) remained under pressure.
Despite the day's recovery, the broader crypto market continues to reflect significant losses in 2026. Bitcoin is down 27.08% YTD, while Ethereum has fallen 40.49%. Cardano (-49.47%), Polkadot (-53.30%), and Avalanche (-44.83%) remain among the worst-performing major cryptocurrencies this year.
The rebound suggests short-term buying interest has returned to digital assets, although the sector continues to face pressure from broader risk sentiment and remains well below its yearly highs.
