Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched a sharp attack on Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar on Friday, alleging large-scale irregularities in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.
Baghel took to social media to “congratulate” the CEC in a sarcastic tone, accusing the Election Commission of helping the BJP secure victory in the state.
Baghel wrote that the Commission had “removed 64 lakh names from Bihar’s voter list” ahead of polling, while “16 lakh new voters applied and 21 lakh names were added later.” He claimed that these numbers reflect “layers of manipulation.”
Calling it a case of “unlimited rigging”, Baghel alleged that the Election Commission acted as the “best ally” of the BJP during the election process.
The INDIA bloc and Mahagathbandhan leaders have been raising concerns over voter roll deletions, low transparency in revisions, and administrative overreach since the first phase of polling. Baghel’s remarks have now added weight to the opposition’s allegations as the BJP-led NDA heads towards a sweeping victory in Bihar.
