In the country, the week starting Monday, October 27, will see several major festivals and commemorations falling together. During this period, banking services will be affected in different states, as per the RBI's holiday list, with banks remaining closed for five days throughout the week. However, these holidays will be state-specific, meaning banks won't close simultaneously everywhere.
Festival Season Begins with Chhath Puja

Chhath Puja is a festival dedicated to the worship of Lord Surya (Sun God), observed with great devotion in Bihar, Jharkhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh, and Nepal. During this time, devotees observe fasts, take holy dips in sacred rivers, and offer Arghya (offerings) to the setting and rising sun. This year, the festival will run from October 25 to 28.

Banks Closed in Karnataka and Uttarakhand on November 1
On Saturday, November 1, banking operations will halt in two states for different reasons.
In Bengaluru, the day will celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava, marking the anniversary of the formation of Karnataka state. Meanwhile, in Dehradun, banks will be closed for the Igas Bagwal festival. This festival is observed 11 days after Diwali. Legend has it that when the news of Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya reached Garhwal, the people there celebrated Diwali late, i.e., Igas Bagwal.
It's worth noting that on November 1, banks in other parts of the country will remain open, as it is the first Saturday, and banks are only closed on the second and fourth Saturdays.
Weekly Holiday on Sunday
Following that, on Sunday, November 2, there will be a weekly holiday across the entire country, and banks will not open.
