In yet another step to foster innovation in India, the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), a flagship initiative of NITI Aayog, is set to launch a new milestone programme for community innovation in New Delhi tomorrow.
The programme will be jointly inaugurated by Union Minister of Education Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal “Nishank” and Minister of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Steel Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.
The new initiative aims to strengthen the spirit of innovation across the country. Speaking about the initiative, AIM Mission Director R. Ramanan said the objective is to make the innovation ecosystem more socially inclusive and ensure equitable distribution of infrastructure for innovation across India. He added that the programme has been specifically designed for underserved and unserved regions, including Tier 1 and metro cities, Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, Smart Cities, aspirational districts, the North East, Jammu and Kashmir, as well as rural and tribal regions.
Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog Dr. Rajiv Kumar, CEO NITI Aayog Shri Amitabh Kant, AIM Mission Director Shri R. Ramanan, and other senior officials will also be present on the occasion.
