Ajmer is set to strengthen its education infrastructure with the construction of a Government Girls' Sainik School, as the Rajasthan government has issued the work order for the ₹20 crore project in the Hathikheda area. The school building is expected to be completed within 15 months, marking a major milestone in expanding military-oriented education for girls in the state.
The project, announced under the Rajasthan State Budget, received administrative approval following efforts by Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, who had requested Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to establish the institution. Construction will be carried out through the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and is scheduled to begin in August 2026.
According to Devnani, the new campus will be developed across 20 acres and equipped with modern educational and training infrastructure. Planned facilities include an advanced academic block, hostels, administrative buildings, staff quarters, classrooms, an indoor games hall, sports fields, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, a parade ground, internal roads, parking, a tube well, boundary wall, and other essential amenities.
He said the institution will provide girls with quality education alongside military-style training, leadership development, and discipline, helping prepare them for future careers in defence and public service.
Devnani added that once completed, Ajmer will join the select group of Indian cities with a dedicated Girls' Sainik School, offering young women an opportunity to receive specialised education in a modern residential campus.
