ABP Network has launched a unique initiative under which 100 emerging businesses of India, that are adding to the country’s prosperity, will be recognized and listed under an ‘Emerging 100’ List.
What’s more is that a Coffee Table book featuring 100 emerging businesses will also be designed & published, giving more power to these brands.
An initiative aligned with Honorable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision for an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, ‘Emerging 100’ will not only list the best 100 businesses of the country but will also encourage people and enterprises to start their ventures and grow their existing businesses to such an extent that they can contribute to nation building on a wider level. To honour the SME businesses, Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways and the Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, is expected to grace the ceremony to unveil the ‘Emerging 100’ List.
These businesses will be shortlisted on the basis of a set criteria of efficiency and governance, whereby hundreds of emerging businesses are invited to fill their entries, out of which, 100 of the best businesses will be selected for the final list.
The eminent jury members of Emerging 100 include: B. Thiagarajan (Managing Director, Blue Star), A. Velumani (Creator, Thyrocare), S. Ravi (Managing Partner, Ravi Rajan & Co. and Chairman, TFCI; Former Chairman, BSE), Richard Rekhu (Former CEO, KPMG India), Zarin Daruwala (CEO, Standard Chartered Bank), Monaz Todywalla (CEO, PHD India), Avinash Pandey (CEO, ABP Network), Srinath Sridharan (Member – Group Management Council Wadhawan Global Capital Group), Rajeev Chaba (President & MD, MG Motors India), and Dr. Annurag Batra (Chairman & Editor-in-Chief BW Businessworld & exchange4media Group).
ABP Network firmly believes that big businesses may gather all the limelight, but Small & Medium sized businesses are very crucial to the Indian economy. These businesses help create job opportunities and drive economic growth. In fact, according to a report by FICCI, this sector has been creating roughly 11.10 crore jobs across the country. It is known as India’s ‘engine of growth’ and roughly contributes 8-9% to the country’s GDP.
On this initiative, Mr. Avinash Pandey, CEO, ABP Network said, “SMEs are the backbone of the most developing countries. Our government is constantly looking for ways to synergize with these growing businesses to drive sustainable local growth. Taking that plan forward and coalescing it with our honourable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ – we have launched this special initiative. We hope Emerging 100 will provide a platform to innovative, efficient, and future-driven businesses to thrive and contribute towards nation building.”
