The 10th Jagran Film Festival commenced today with its inauguration by Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Mr. Prakash Javadekar. The opening ceremony was attended by prominent film personalities including Anil Kapoor, Farah Khan, Adil Hussain, Shobu Yarlagadda, Ketan Mehta, and renowned film critic Rajeev Masand, along with other distinguished guests.
The first day of the festival featured engaging sessions under the Cinema Summit. Session 1, titled “Future of Cinema: Breaking Language Barriers in Indian Cinema,” saw participation from Shobu Yarlagadda and Ketan Mehta. This was followed by Session 2 on “Changing Landscape of Bollywood,” featuring Farah Khan, along with an in-conversation session with Anil Kapoor as part of the Indian Retrospective segment. All sessions were moderated by Rajeev Masand.
The festival opened with the world premiere of Ghawre Bairey Aaj, directed by Aparna Sen. The first day also showcased a diverse lineup of world and India premieres, feature films, short films, and documentaries.

The Jagran Film Festival begins its multi-city journey from Delhi on July 18 and will travel across Kanpur, Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Agra, Meerut, Dehradun, Hisar, Ludhiana, Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Gorakhpur, Raipur, Indore, and Bhopal, before culminating in Mumbai on September 29.
