After the successful edition of Miss Trans Queen India for the consecutive two years (2017 & 2018), the national pageant is all set to pull up its curtains and unveil its 3rd edition for the transgender woman. The Beauty pageant is to be held from 1st – 3rd October, 2019 at Dilli Haat Janakpuri, New Delhi. The event is organized every year by Deepa Ardnareshwar Empowerment foundation.
Miss Trans Queen India Beauty pageant is India’s ‘First ever beauty pageant for transgender women’. It is the brain child of Reena Rai who is India’s First CIS Gender Woman working for Trans Empowerment. She is also the founder of Deepa Ardnareshwar Empowerment foundation. The idea behind this event was not only to give platform to transgender women for showcasing their talent and beauty but also to create larger advocacy around trans-issues and appreciate and recognize the support of the people.
Speaking about the upcoming event Reena Rai, Founder of Deepa Ardnareshwar Empowerment foundation said,” It is a pleasure to announce the 3rd edition of Miss Trans Queen India which is hope for the millions of transgender in the country. Miss Trans Queen India was born in 2017 which has now become a part of history. With awards & accolades, this has now become an emblem of hope for the transgender community.”
She further added that Miss Trans Queen India not only received its due recognition in India but the winners also represent the country on an International platform like Ms. International Trans Queen”
Some of the prominent winners of Miss Trans Queen India who represented India in an International platform include well-known Naaz Joshi who had won Miss World Diversity & represented India in International pageant for the consecutive three years (2017, 2018 & 2019); Veena Sendre (2018) placed 8th position in Miss International queen 2019 and has joined congress in the year 2018; Ms. Nitasha Biswas (2017) made her small screen debut with ‘Dating In The Dark’; Namita ammu as leading actress & will have her debut during october; Navya Singh – news makers achiever award & Best Trans Model, 2019, Akansha Sarsir walked the ramp at Couture Runway Week, and Deepanjali Chhetri represented India in Spain as the brand ambassador of football team TRNA & few other trans woman participated in Bangalore Times Fashion Week.
