YES BANK’s Environmental Management System (EMS) has been certified ISO 14001:2015 for the seventh year in a row covering 732 facilities – the highest in the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector, globally. The Bank’s EMS is geared towards greening operations and enhancing its environmental performance.
The ISO 14001:2015 is a globally recognized
standard developed by the International Organization for Standards (ISO) that
sets out the criteria for an EMS. The Certification has been awarded by Bureau
VERITAS India Private Limited, a global leader in certification services.
YES BANK has adopted an Environmental
Management Policy aimed at reducing its carbon emissions intensity by 10%
year-on-year. The certification highlights the Bank’s efforts at reducing the
use of paper, enhancing energy efficiency, recycling waste, mitigating
environmental risk, and integrating environmental sustainability into its
The Bank was also recently rated ‘A-‘ (Leadership Band) by CDP, for its 2019 Climate Change disclosures, surpassing the averages for the Financial Services and the Asia
Region, which stand at ‘C’. YES BANK is also rated ‘A-‘ (Leadership Band) in
the 2019 Supplier Engagement Rating by CDP.
Speaking on the announcement, Ms. Namita Vikas, Senior Group President
