Jankalyan Portal a window to Transparent, Accountable and Good Governance developed in accordance to vision of Honourable Chief Minister of Rajasthan Shri. Ashok Gehlot. An integrated portal, Jankalyan displays public information of all departments and district of Government of Rajasthan in an easy access format for all state residents. Mobile phone application in IOS and Android platforms have helped to further extend the reach of the portal and the processes are being timely reviewed and updated.
In the sequence on ensuring seamless availability of information through the Jankalyan portal a virtual review meeting was held on 18 January, 2022 under chairmanship of Commissioner, DOIT Shri Sandesh Nayak. Statistical Officers from all districts, DIPR officials and officers of DOIT were present at the meeting.
During the meeting Commissioner DOIT emphasized on importance of timely updating information on the portal. He said that through the web portal and mobile application “Jankalyan” has emerged as an unparalleled medium to provide information to public. It thus becomes necessary that information are logged in due time and format.
Shri Rajesh Saini from Information Technology cell of Chief Minister’s office stated that through the mobile application state residents are being provided important updates from the honourable Chief Minister, such as his messages, planning and information regarding his interaction with Honourable PM and other state governments. In addition with other releases and decisions by state departments and district administration the portal is providing real time information regarding various government schemes and processes.
During the review, Smt Neha Chaudhary, Project Officer, CMO informed that rules and documents related to all public centric schemes can be accessed through the mobile base application. Alongwith the media coverage of all important events and other pubic awareness activities are being compiled through the portal. All state government orders, schemes and related documents can be accessed in department and district based categories.
The Jankalyan Portal has also been updating itself, on occasion of completion of three years of state government in present tenure of honourable Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot the mobile phone application was launched recently. In accordance to contemporary requirements, the district websites have been developed in a format based on central database of Jankalyan Portal. These too were unveiled along with launch of the mobile base application. The information available on Jankalyan Portal is also being reflected on the district administration websites.
The review meeting held on Tuesday was in process towards ensuring efficient working of the portal. Alongwith Commissioner DOIT, Statistical Officers from all districts, DIPR officials and officers of DOIT were present at the meeting. Director DIPR, Shri Purshotam Sharma while appreciating the objectives and achievements of the Jankalyan Portal instructed the public relations officer to ensure timely logging in information at the portal.
In conclusion of the review, Commissioner DOIT Shri Sandesh Nayak said that websites of all state government departments are also being developed in lines of the district websites and will be based on Jankalyan Portal database. Thus it has become even more important that important updates from these departments get timely reflected on the website
