Amidst the political stalemate in Maharashtra,the Union Cabinet today discussed the political situation in Maharashtra thisafternoon.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over themeeting before leaving for the two-day BRICS Summit in Brazil.
The meeting is understood to have discussed thereport submitted by the state Governor, Bhagat Singh Koshiyari to the HomeMinistry.
He has recommended imposition of President’sRule in the state. The move assumes significance in the wake of the fact that no party is in a position to form the government in Maharashtra even after 18days of declaration of Assembly elections results.
