The Ministry of Education announced the cancellation of the UGC-NET June 2024 exam citing potential security breaches. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the pen and paper based exam on June 18th across the country. Authorities received information from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) suggesting a compromise in the exam's integrity.
To uphold transparency and fairness, a fresh UGC-NET exam will be scheduled. The announcement included the involvement of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a thorough investigation.
The update also addressed the NEET(UG) 2024 exam. While the issue of grace marks has been settled, allegations of irregularities in Patna are under scrutiny. A detailed report has been requested from the Economic Offences Unit of the Bihar Police. Further action will be taken based on their findings.
The government remains committed to ensuring the sanctity of examinations and protecting student interests. They emphasized strict action against any individuals or organizations involved in exam malpractice.
