Over 40 volunteers of Transworld Group recently celebrated International Women's Day by honoring women who have been pioneers of change under the theme of 'Inspire Inclusion'.
This year's theme of investing in women is in alignment with Transworld Group's continued commitment towards women empowerment. A sequence of initiatives was undertaken in partnership with ground level organizations, including a live session in collaboration with Apne Aap Women's Collective NGO (AAWC), which has been significantly contributing to social integration of women who have been victims of human trafficking. 65 participants had joined the session on – Stories of Inclusion – to familiarize with the work of the organization and interact with beneficiary women.
As partner NGO of Transworld Group for over 3 years now, the support extended to AAWC has been conducive in helping victims and their daughters through various programs for empowerment and their holistic development.
Transworld Group volunteers had further supported 170 beneficiaries of partner organizations – Apne Aap Women's Collective (Mumbai), Sakshi (Delhi), We One (Dubai) – through the distribution of dry-ration kits, hygiene kits, first-aid kits, and personal care kits. The engagement also involved motivational interaction with beneficiary women on their journey of transition, fitness session, and mahila panchayat model.
Transworld Group has been consistently focusing on women empowerment through their long-term projects focusing on skill development and market linkages in association with Sri Dhanvanthri Ashramam Trust and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. These projects are enabling financial independence of lesser-privileged women at the grassroot level.
"Transworld Group salutes each woman who has been working hard despite enormous challenges. We are privileged to find NGOs that support our company values and engage with our employees on a continuous basis to support the causes that are close to our heart. We are also grateful to all our volunteers who have come forward to enable a supportive environment for women," said Anisha Ramakrishnan, Director, Transworld Group.
