Mumbai 8th May: Transworld Group marked its Corporate Responsibility Day, an annual celebration of the birth anniversary of its Founder Chairman Late Shri R. Sivaswamy on 28th April and his contributions to various social and environmental causes.
In alignment with the company's long-standing commitment towards environmental stewardship, celebrations involved several plantation drives across its all-India as well as global locations.
Embarking on the journey of planting 500,000 trees till 2027, when Transworld group will be celebrating its 50th anniversary, 5,027 saplings are being sown as the company stands firm with its steadfast belief in environmental stewardship through community development via livelihood generation.
In Mumbai, the drive was conducted in association with Catch Foundation, an NGO implementing Miyawaki inspired CSVP methodology. While at Delhi, Kandla, Kochi, Kolkata, Paradip, and Tirupur, the partnership was established with Aahwahan Foundation NGO, an organization which has been working towards environmental causes among others.
In India, 113 volunteers were joined by community members to honor shared responsibility towards the environment through this plantation drive, to restore our planet.
