Jaipur, May 5:
The Rajasthan Water Resources Department has suspended three engineers and initiated disciplinary action against three others following irregularities in construction works under the Chambal canal project in Kota.
According to official orders issued on May 5, the कार्रवाई was taken after substandard materials were found being used in ongoing works under the right main canal (CAD Chambal, Kota). The suspended officials include junior engineers Nemi Chand Bairwa, Sonu Kumar Gochar, and Deepak Chaudhary from the Anta subdivision.
In addition, departmental proceedings have been initiated against Executive Engineer Hemraj Meena, Assistant Engineer and Technical Assistant Naresh Malav, and Assistant Engineer Amit Kumar Bohra. कार्रवाई against संबंधित contractors is also underway as per norms.
Suresh Singh Rawat said the government is maintaining strict vigilance to ensure quality in infrastructure projects. “Any compromise on material standards will not be tolerated,” he stated.
The irregularities came to light after a joint inspection conducted by the Superintending Engineer, Irrigation Circle CAD Kota, and the Quality Control Unit. Officials confirmed that defective work has been identified and is being removed.
