Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & IT Jitin Prasada has inaugurated the Standardization Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) Lab Automation Portal – ‘SATYA’, a major digital governance initiative under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), aimed at modernizing certification, accelerating service delivery, and strengthening trust in India’s digital ecosystem.
Launched in the presence of MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan, senior ministry officials, and representatives from STQC and C-DAC, the portal brings testing, certification, and quality assurance services onto a single integrated and user-friendly digital platform, benefiting citizens, industries, startups, MSMEs, and government departments.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Jitin Prasada emphasized that governance in the digital age goes beyond policymaking and must deliver transparency, accountability, efficiency, and trust. He described the SATYA portal as a citizen-centric step toward improving public service delivery and digital governance outcomes.
The STQC Directorate plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety, and reliability of electronic and IT products and services across India. With the automation portal now operational, certification processes are expected to become faster, more predictable, and more transparent, strengthening confidence among industry stakeholders.
For startups and MSMEs, the platform significantly reduces procedural burden and compliance complexity, enabling them to bring secure, compliant, and high-quality products to market more efficiently. The initiative aligns with national priorities such as Digital India, Ease of Doing Business, and Minimum Government – Maximum Governance.
MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan noted that the SATYA portal marks a major shift toward fully digital, technology-driven certification services, improving transparency, operational efficiency, and accessibility for all stakeholders.
Highlighting the importance of cybersecurity, data protection, and product quality, the Minister stated that platforms like SATYA contribute to building a trusted digital ecosystem, supporting India’s ambition to emerge as a global technology and manufacturing hub.
