The iconic Rambagh Palace, Jaipur, one of the most recognisable Taj hotels in the country, has been rated #1 in the Top Hotels in India and #15 in the Best Hotels in the World categories of the prestigious global Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2020. Rambagh Palace, often called the ‘Jewel of Jaipur’ was originally built in 1835. It was the home of the queen’s favourite handmaiden and then became a royal guesthouse and hunting lodge. In 1925, Rambagh Palace became the permanent residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur. In the finest tradition of Rajput hospitality, Rambagh Palace offers its guests a taste of royal living – a luxury and extravagance that was once the sole preserve of kings.
It’s elegantly appointed rooms, marbled corridors, airy verandas and majestic gardens set in 47 acres echo with history. The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2020 have also recognized seven Taj hotels across six categories this year. Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Goa features in the Best Resorts in the World category and the Top 30 Resorts in Asia. Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Maldives and Taj Coral Reef Resort & Spa, Maldives have been voted as the Top 30 Resorts in the Indian Ocean.
The Pierre, A Taj Hotel made it to the Top Hotels in New York City category. In addition to Rambagh Palace, Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur and The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai also feature in the Top Hotels in India. The global Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards are presented annually on the basis of votes from readers of the magazine for the best that the travel world has to offer. The 33rd Readers’ Choice Awards represented the first time that the voters picked their choices, even when not travelling when most of the world has come to a pause.
This is further testament to our guests’ continued trust in Taj, which was ranked Number One on the list of the strongest Indian brands by Brand Finance in their coveted ‘India 100 2020’ report.
