Jaipur, July 31: The Rajasthan Department of Local Self Government on Friday organised a state-level workshop and webinar under Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0 to promote the exchange of best practices among urban local bodies and strengthen preparations for Swachh Survekshan 2026-27.
The monthly webinar series, organised in compliance with directions issued by the Chief Secretary during a recent review meeting, aimed to showcase successful sanitation initiatives, innovative models and effective urban cleanliness practices adopted across Rajasthan. The initiative is expected to improve the performance and rankings of the state's cities in the upcoming Swachh Survekshan.
Focus on Better Swachh Survekshan Performance
Director of the Department of Local Self Government Prateek Juikar said the workshop focused on sharing successful sanitation strategies and innovative practices implemented by various urban local bodies. Officials discussed effective models that can be replicated across the state to ensure uniform and efficient urban sanitation management while strengthening preparations for the national cleanliness survey.
Sikar Model Highlights Low-Cost Waste Management Solutions
A major attraction of the workshop was the presentation by the Sikar Municipal Council, which showcased its achievements under Swachh Survekshan, innovative sanitation initiatives and cost-effective solid waste management solutions.
The presentation demonstrated how efficient utilisation of local resources, improved waste processing techniques and practical sanitation management strategies can deliver impactful results with limited financial resources.
Technical Training on New Rules and Digital Portal
Master trainers conducted technical sessions on the newly introduced Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026, familiarising participants with the updated regulatory framework.
Officials also received practical training on the 'Swachhtam Portal', covering timely data updates, online reporting procedures and other digital processes to help urban local bodies manage Swachh Survekshan activities more efficiently.
