Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and many virtual daters who didn’t get a chance to meet in person due to the pandemic, are keen to meet their partners and celebrate love after a tough year. Quack Quack, an online dating app surveyed 5 thousand of their active users to know about their expectations and plans for the upcoming Valentine’s Day and yes, the results are quite interesting.
Desi millennials’ favourite dating app has revealed that more female users are keen on meeting their partners both in metros and tier 2 cities – 75% of female users as against 55% of male users in metros and 85% of female users as against 65% of male users in tier 2 cities. Also, users from tier 2 cities are keener to meeting their partners and celebrating Valentine’s Day, compared to peers in metros.
“This Valentine’s Day is perhaps most awaited by desi singles and hence, special because finally, a lot of those online couples can meet in person after a year of uncertainties and isolation. As a dating app, we understand the essence of love and how online daters have missed meeting over a lunch/dinner date, watching a movie together, sitting by the beach or going for long drives. To celebrate the occasion of V-Day, we are coming up with a special feature for the Indian dating fraternity – Find My Crush that allows a user to enter their crush’s mobile number and if the other half also does the same, the app will send a crush notification to both the users.” says Mr. Ravi Mittal, Founder of QuackQuack.
Much to your surprise, users in smaller cities are more enthusiastic towards celebrating V-Day than users in metros. Among smaller cities, 60% of the users from Indore, Nagpur, Jaipur, and Ahmadabad are quite excited whereas, among metros, users from Bangalore are more excited while users from cities like Hyderabad and Pune seem to be less interested.
Surely! Many good things begin with coffee and our desi millennials confirm it as a majority of them wish to go out for a coffee on Valentine’s Day whereas dinner date and movie are secondary options. Women, who are more excited about celebrating the much awaited day of love, wish to receive gifts or getting surprised while men wait for the day to confess their love. About 80% single women and 60% single men agree that they are under pressure to have a Valentine.
The dating app is as excited for the day as the users because 58% of female and 34% male users have multiple matches on the app and about 60% of the users are planning to zero down their Valentine’s Day date by doing multiple video calls whereas 30% of them are willing to take the traditional route by engaging in long hours of chatting with their love interests.
