Jaipur, December 29 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Sunday during the 117th episode of his radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat.’ Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, along with members of the Cabinet, MPs, and MLAs, listened to the address at the Chief Minister's Residence (CMR).
Prime Minister Modi highlighted that January 26, 2025, marks 75 years since the implementation of the Constitution. He expressed pride in this milestone, describing the Constitution as a “guiding light” and a “beacon of guidance.” He remarked, “It is because of the Constitution that I am able to speak to you today.” He added that a series of year-long activities commenced on November 26, Constitution Day, to connect citizens with the legacy of the Constitution. A special website, constitution75.com, has been launched, allowing people to upload videos after reading the Preamble.
Development in Every Sector and Class - Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma described the Prime Minister's address as an enduring source of inspiration for the people. He remarked, “Listening to PM Modi instills fresh energy. The nation’s continuous achievements fill us with pride.” He further noted that under the visionary leadership of PM Modi, the country is advancing rapidly on the path of becoming a “developed India.” Highlighting unprecedented progress in sectors such as health, education, transportation, commerce, defense, technology, and culture, the CM stated that PM Modi’s vision has accelerated development, ensuring the upliftment and welfare of youth, women, farmers, and the underprivileged.
Unity in Diversity at the Maha Kumbh
PM Modi announced that the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj will commence on January 13. He emphasized that the uniqueness of the Maha Kumbh lies not only in its vast scale but also in its diversity. Millions of people, saints, sects, and akhadas participate, showcasing unity without discrimination or hierarchy. He urged attendees to carry the spirit of unity back with them. This time, digital technology will allow devotees worldwide to witness the Maha Kumbh as a “Digital Maha Kumbh.”
India’s Achievements Against Malaria and Cancer
The Prime Minister highlighted two significant achievements in the health sector that have drawn global attention.
Fighting Malaria:
PM Modi noted that malaria has been a major challenge for over 4,000 years. He cited a WHO report showing an 80% reduction in malaria cases and deaths in India between 2015 and 2023, achieved through public participation and determination.
Combating Cancer:
He credited awareness campaigns and the Ayushman Bharat scheme for notable success in the fight against cancer. The scheme has significantly reduced financial burdens, enabling nearly 90% of patients to begin treatment on time. PM Modi emphasized the mantra of "Awareness, Action, and Assurance" in battling cancer.
Small Beginnings Lead to Big Changes
PM Modi mentioned the success of farmer-producer organizations (FPOs) in Odisha's Kalahandi district. Despite limited water and resources, farmers in the Golakunda block formed 10 FPOs, creating a “vegetable revolution.” Today, 200 farmers, including 45 women, are part of the initiative, generating a turnover of over ₹1.5 crore. The PM encouraged supporting such FPOs, stating that even small beginnings can lead to significant transformations.
The Prime Minister also spoke about India’s cultural heritage, the potential of the film and entertainment industry, the contributions of cinema personalities, and the Bastar Olympics, shedding light on these diverse aspects during his address.
