Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the martyrs at the National War Memorial on the 20th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. He honored the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers and stated that the nation would always remember their supreme sacrifice.
Senior defence officials, including Shripad Yesso Naik and top Army, Navy, and Air Force officers, also paid homage to the heroes of ‘Operation Vijay’.
The statement recalled the 1999 Kargil War fought along the Line of Control, where Indian armed forces successfully drove out Pakistani intruders from key sectors such as Dras, Batalik, Kaksar, and Turtok under extremely difficult conditions.
