July 6, 2026: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday reviewed the progress of projects being implemented by the National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) and directed officials to expedite the execution of key multimodal infrastructure initiatives across the country.
During the review meeting in New Delhi, Gadkari assessed the progress of Multi-Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs), ropeways, intermodal stations, and wayside amenities being developed along national highways and expressways.
NHLML, a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), is responsible for developing logistics infrastructure and enhancing travel facilities on India's highway network.
The minister underscored the importance of these projects in building a future-ready integrated transportation system, stating that they will strengthen multimodal connectivity, unlock new economic opportunities, promote balanced regional development, and enhance India's overall logistics competitiveness.
Gadkari also reviewed key implementation bottlenecks and instructed all stakeholders to resolve pending issues on priority to accelerate project execution. He said the timely completion of these initiatives would improve logistics efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and provide world-class infrastructure and amenities for commuters, while supporting the government's Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
