Jaipur, November 11, 2021. The National Contemporary Miniature painting Workshop-ll started on November 2nd and will be closing on November 12th, 2021. President of Kalavritt Sundip Sumahendra, told that this workshop was also organized last year on the occasion of the birthday of kalaguru Dr. Sumahendra, the founder of Kalavritt sanstha and seeing the enthusiasm of miniature painting among the artists of our country, this year also, this workshop is being organized, as second edition.
In this workshop, all selected painters will depict the contemporary topics in their own styles based on the events happening around them, incorporating their own imagination and rendering in miniature painting techniques of their respective regions. Kalavritt believes that this art workshop will enthuse our new generation of painters to fathom the traditional techniques of different miniature painting schools and get inspired to create their own.
He said that in this workshop, five best paintings would be honored along with a memento to each artist in the name of world famous painters and Kalgurus of Rajasthan which are as follows: Padma Shri Ram Gopal Vijayvargiya Samman, Padma Shri Kripal Singh Shekhawat Samman, Kalaratna P.N. Choyal Award, Kalaguru Vedpal Sharma “Bannuji” Award and Prof. Devkinandan Sharma Award. All other participating painters will be given digital certificates.
Rajnish Harsh, Secretary, Rajasthan Lalit Kala Akademi said that in this workshop, a large number of painters applied from all over the country, out of which the selection committee of three senior painters constituted by Kalavrit selected 151 painters on the basis of their earlier work, and technique. The R.L.K.A. is always striving for the upliftment of miniature painting styles in our state as well as other miniature painting styles of our country, which are otherwise, disappearing fast day by day.
Congratulating all the selected painters, he hoped that like last year, this year too, excellent work of painters from all over the country will be seen.
Giving information about the workshop, Secretary of Kalavrit Devendra Singh Bais said that the awards will be singled out by a distinct committee of renowned artists of country constituted by Kalavritt . This committee will select five best paintings for the award and 24 paintings will also be selected for the year 2022 calendar to be published in digital format.
